My Latest Beauty Buys: Laura Lee’s Palette, Ofra Highlighter, Milani Lip Scrub

Payday is my favourite day of the month. Payday means I can log into my BeautyBay account and fill my basket with goodies while angels sing around me, not a worry in the world.

The first thing I bought is something I definitely needed as this is a problem area for me. I unfortunately have ‘seasonal flu’ all year round so dry lips are a definite issue for me. I haven’t been able to find a decent lip scrub or maybe I just depended on my Carmex way too much, but Melani’s Keep It Sweet Lip Scrub is uh-mazing. The scrub cost me £10, not the cheapest one on the market but it’s still less expensive than the likes of Jeffree Star and Tarte. Definitely a win for me!

I also bought the Glazed Donut highlighter by Ofra, which is an extension to their Everglow collaboration with the queen NikkieTutorials. I was super excited to receive this, since pretty much everybody loves it. I paid £25 for this highlighter, again a little pricey since it’s a single highlighter but OH LORD, it’s so pigmented! This highlighter definitely requires a light hand, unless you want to blind people then girl, go HAM.

This week, I finally got around to ordering Laura Lee’s Nudie Patootie palette. Not only is the palette visually pleasing with its millennial pink colour scheme, but the shades themselves are dreamy.  I paid £38 for this but while I think it’s quite expensive for a new indie brand, the palette is really high quality and the pans are a great mixture of mattesshimmers and two GORGEOUS foils. I adore Laura, she’s one of my favourite Youtubers so major props to her for this awesome palette.

NEW Urban Decay: Born To Run Palette Review & Swatches

Hold on to your seats ladies, Urban Decay have released their prettiest palette yet…

Born To Run.

Inspired by #wanderlust and #wishyouwerehereUD have created a perfect blend of colours that are universally flattering on every skin tone, and easy enough to create a multitude of different looks. The all-in-one palette is so diverse in a way that you can create a natural day look, smokey date night or a full on shimmer fest – all using the same palette. This was created with the intention of travelling light as you’ll have everything you need here, including a full size mirror which is. BOMB.

It is a seriously pretty palette and with an impressive 21 shades, it has almost double the amount the NAKED palettes have (still love you, girls!) with a good range of neutral mattes and colour popping shimmers. I’m a copper lid, nude lip kinda girl but the colour range does inspire me to branch out a bit. The shades are, as usual, buttery smooth and so easy to blend its drool-worthy.

While the pan sizes aren’t huge, they are still a decent size and keep in mind the main selling point of Urban Decay’s campaign, creating multiple looks on-the-go, hassle free. If the pans were bigger they would take up more space.

The only problem I had was picking up the shimmer with my brush, even after drowning it in MAC Fix+, I still had a lot of fallout so if this is your preferred method, be sure to pack your favourite loose powder under your eye before hand to dust it away afterwards. Although it does seem to work better using my finger to press it to my lid.

Overall, I think this palette is well worth the money and I would definitely recommend it for the practical traveller who doesn’t want to carry around 10 eye shadow palettes (can’t relate, lol) but also to your everyday person where eye shadow is a staple for your look.

I hope you all liked my review, what is your favourite eye shadow palette? Leave a comment below! 🙂

This palette retails for £39.50 and is now available to buy on their website and will be available in UK stores from 2nd August 2018.
